About Poppa Ben
Welcome — and thank you for stopping by.
I’ve spent around 30 years learning about natural health and working with people looking for answers to their health concerns. Since 2009, I’ve worked one-on-one with clients using Health Kinesiology, now known as Natural Bioenergetics, while continually exploring nutrition, vitamins, herbs, and other approaches to wellness.
My interest didn’t come out of nowhere. I had my own digestive issues years ago and went looking for answers. I tried juicing, vitamins, supplements, and eventually energy healing. Along the way I did the academic work — earning certifications in Health Kinesiology (now known as Natural Bioenergetics) — and I’ve spent the last 17 years working one-on-one with hundreds of people navigating everything from food sensitivities to anxiety, persistent skin issues, and burnout.
What I write here comes out of that experience: real conversations, real observations, and a lot of hard-won learning.
What This Blog Is (and Isn’t)
This isn’t a site where I try to summarize studies you can read anywhere. It’s where I share what I’ve noticed over decades of study and practice — patterns, practical insights, and honest reflections on what tends to help people feel better.
I write about vitamins, herbs, energy work, and everyday wellness in plain language, without hype. When I share what I’ve observed in my own practice, I try to be clear that it comes from personal experience rather than clinical research. And I always encourage readers to talk with their own healthcare providers about their individual situations.
About the Name
Poppa Ben was my great-grandfather — a warm, wise man who built a successful life through years of hard work and quiet determination. His name is one I’m proud to write under, and the tone I aim for here is exactly what his name suggests: someone who’s been around the block, has some genuine wisdom to share, and wants to help you sort through the noise. Not a guru, not a doctor — just someone who’s spent his life caring about how people can feel more at home in their bodies.
Where to Start
If you’re new here, I’d recommend starting with Introduction to Energy Work — it’s a good introduction to how I think about health, and to the work I’ve spent most of my career doing.
Thanks for being here.
